Indeed. He's not the only defender who has made some very basic mistakes this year. But there was no excuse for him fumbling a weak shot like he did today. I wish for nothing more than for him to refind his form of recent seasons but despite the howling at the time, I don't think Hurst was wrong to drop him and I think he may need a rest again now. I think Gerken did well in the games he played and deserves another chance. Yeah he made a couple of errors but fewer than Bart has. | | | |
