Another reason to lament the loss of Waghorn. Letting Smith go was one of MM's biggest errors. We miss him at both ends of the pitch and we miss his big Town shaped heart too.

Doubt we will see much movement come Jan, we could be ten points adrift and doubt Evans would plough any funds to a team heading down. He will be looking to make huge cuts.

Our problems with a set piece taker, is the loss of Martin Waghorn, a bit like Jim MacGilton in his pomp, he would have even taken the goalkicks if given the chance, could also create and score.
They are big boots to fill, any players out their to do that job?
MM with his connections, had the art of bringing in special loan players to supplement a basic squad, to keep a team safe from relegation, but that was at the start of each season.
PL will also have his special connections, but having to do it mid-season, bottom of the table, having inherited PH rash, rush of lower League players, while losing most of last years 1st team playing squad, is a big ask.
If PL manages to keep us up this year, with what he has been dealt, with some shrewd signings, he should be held in the same esteem as Bobby Robson during his early years at Ipswich Town.
