Surely when a team is so poor you have to build from the back and stop conceding. My only question of the Lambert regime is why is there such little sign of any better defending. A borderline or unnecessary penalty, terrible back post marking and an awful back pass finished us today. Just don't believe this is the best the defenders we have can do.
On a separate note that's 2 borderline pens in 2 matches. That's very unfortunate. |  | | |  |

Today's pen wasn't borderline.
Lambert can do nothing with our defence until he brings in new players. This is the worst defence we have ever had, even 94-95 was better and we had the excuse of being in the Premier League then. |  |

The defence isn't assisted by us having chunky spells and away from home, quite often entire games where we simply cannot keep possession. The ball just keeps coming back at us, we don't get a chance to reset defensively and we come under pressure.
First half we played really well, kept the ball and our defence was comfortable. Second half, I lost count of the number of times the ball dropped to one of our players in a defensive position (Chalobah in particular) and it was just smacked up the pitch straight back to Millwall rather than playing a simple pass to a team mate. |  | | |
