Fortunately, it's from HITC. A source with marginally less credibility than that Nixon journalist who made his Twitter account private.

i don't want to be be too down on a player but if this is us using significant money towards signings then, i would hate to see what it would be, should Evans not be backing Lambert.

The guy that's reporting is Pete O'Rouke who is ex Sky. Highly reputable

We need to get bodies through the door early.
Know nothing about this guy but if can help evolve the way Lambert wants to play then we have little to lose. The Rotherham game is massive.

Yes, let's not sign a journeyman striker with little goals scored, Murphy and Waghorn were terrible for us

Good age and expiring contract means if he performs we could get a decent player at the end potentially...that said...his stats at Championship level aren't great. In PL we trust though

Don't know why you keep knocking HITC. Yes they have been wrong on occasions (like most journos), but they do get a lot of ITFC news right. IIRC, they were the first to report our interest of Jackson in the summer.

Yeah it’d be the most sensible thing Evans has done since owning the club to be honest. Decent attributes for League 1. Good signing.

Classic case of anybody through the door, not the quality we need to stay in this league, same story different window.

We may as well not sign anyone, trim the fat and go down rather than sign this rubbish.

It's time to make the best of it.

Not sure I keep criticising it but it does tend to be a little scattergun.

Aren't they all? I'm still waiting for Westwood to sign as Phil reported years ago. Does that make him scatter gun?

Indeed. He's not getting much of a chance at Hull given the players they already have, and arguably that's been the story of his career so far.

But just like Murphy, McGoldrick and Waghorn, you can arrive at a club where you're at the right level to get games and show what you can do.

A player with a bit of height but more importantly the ability to use the ball well would improve us in attack immeasurably. And *should* mean we create more and better opportunities which has been the main problem this season, not someone to necessarily put the chances away. Although that would obviously help too.

I don't really know what you all expect? A striker with a good scoring record costs money. We don't have money. Therefore we have to take chances. Murphy, McGoldrick, Waghorn, Garner and Sears weren't exactly proven scorers before they joined us.

I don't know too much about him but coming up via Man U and what with being capped by England at U16, U17, U19, U20 and U21 levels doesn't seem quite Sammon to me.

Seems like it, a striker with 5 career league goals and a left-back with less Championship experience than Myles Kenlock. They might turn out to be great signings but these are not the experienced players promised, so far, so it looks like we are preparing for next season rather than splashing the cash, which is probably sensible.
