As soon as you vegan fruitcakes started popping up we've been in decline! We were in the playoffs just over 3 years ago- now look at us ? We've gone from eating high quality fish or meat to vegan stuff and not even the good kind , were eating Quorn mince ! [Post edited 2 Jan 2019 15:41]

No it isn't mocking the vegan lifestyle, it's promoting it There will be people who try it and stick with it beyond January. If people do only stick with it for a month, it still means less animals have suffered, so it's all positive

I was a vegan when we won the play off final, finished 5th in the Prem, beat Inter Milan and remained undefeated at home in European Competition. So, veganism has nothing to do with it :) Quorn mince contains eggs, so it isn't vegan

Good for the environment though. Going vegan for a month is a good way to reduce your 'carbon footprint'. Tackling methane is a lot better than tackling carbon dioxide and has more of an impact. And no, i'm not doing Veganuary.

Meat eaters don't go out and kill the animals they eat. I'm sure the supermarkets will be selling the same amount of meat. Unfortunately, it will be going to waste if people are turning vegan for the month.

Like vegetarianism, lots of people can’t imagine it being possible. By trying it out, testing a few different foods/ingredients and recipes, it’s a way of people understanding that it is possible.

But he was open minded enough to try it. Why is it a puff piece? I suspect it’s quite unusual for a British born pro footballer to be vegetarian, let alone vegan. The preparation and conditioning of pro footballers is part of the ongoing narrative around coverage of the Premiership. It’s a perfectly legitimate piece. And its Veganuary, which lots of people will be trying.
