... apparently close to signing. Now, without shooting the messenger, saw this on tw@tter and something about that account sticks out that it has had some inside info before on transfers, but can't quite 100% remember.

Collin Quaner, the big lanky Dusseldorfer.

Haven't seen enough of him in England, think he did alright in the championship but don't think he's scored in the prem or not what I can recall. Was good in the German 2nd tier.

Possibly one that Lambert has looked at in the past given his German connections?

Not so sure.

He said Evans has told Lambert he needs to sell this window to bring anyone in and that Lee O’Neill is replacing Milne.

I'll always give a player a chance as some thrive at different clubs but my initial thought is that he's an exotic Connor Sammon!

Why should it bother you? We're signing Gestede aren't we?

That last bit makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. You'd think people would put more effort into their def infos.

Doubt this is true but, as with Keane, his goal record wouldn't really bother me that much. Anyone who can make the ball stick up there, win some headers and cause a bit of a nuisance would allow our other attackers so much more freedom while also stopping the ball constantly coming back at us.

Wasn't in their matchday squad but presumably you were scanning the stands for him keenly.

Also he is more a winger than a central attacker. It would add up but, hey, all kinds of names going round.

Conor Sammon was one of the most comically awful footballers I have ever seen in a Town shirt. Unsurprisingly, his one goal in 19 Town appearances was a rebound which went in off his knee.

From what I have seen of him I thought he looked promising

There is something there to work with even if he isn't that prolific. He is certainly a big unit who will give the defenders something to worry about.

Keane at 25 is potentially with a long term view point on the hope he eventually fulfills his potential

Quaner is more short term presumably, would this be a loan or a permanent signing?

He scored with his arse a few times for Derby. His knee was a demonstration of his evolving skillset.

Didn't he score (a rather well taken) winnderat Watford or am I getting him mixed up with another baldy slaphead?
