Now PL has managed to realise that he needs investment lets see how many financial experts start about 'Evans own money' 'Evans the saviour he saved us' and all the rest of the BS from idiots that know NOTHING!!!!!

He has done just enough to get by, until this year at least. A lot of the comments about his investment in the club are centred around it being the best we have available, and little sign of any better being around the corner. We have a a solid youth foundation to be built around which was Evans doing. It just needed a brave and better manager to invest in playing them earlier but also mixing them with better experienced signings which Hurst failed miserably to do.

Indeed. I think the 5-point plan was the way to go and still is. Perhaps with a little more investment than McCarthy got and Lambert likely will. It wasn't a great 2016-18 on the pitch (the gaps in midfield were too much of a problem without spending more or getting luckier with injuries) but during those years we'd spent more time and money on developing the kids and signing undervalued players whose value we could boost. So much so that we were able to generate 12+ million in transfer fees and still had the next wave of players like Downes, Dozzell, Morris etc. to come. But here we probably cashed in too much at once and definitely recruited poorly compared to recent years. A more sober and realistic approach over the Summer could have seen us building on 12th rather than now looking at it as an unattainable dream.
