Quaner - not sure yet if he can actually play or if he's just a specimen. Very hit and miss, mainly miss.

If our previous incumbent had played like Elder did there'd be at least ten threads this evening professing him to be sh¡te. He's a downgrade on Jonas but not awful either, not sure he's an upgrade on Kenlock to be honest. | |

Elder didn't really offer any more or less than an underperforming Knudsen.
Keane and Quaner clearly out of sharpness and practice whilst naturally they're not on the same wavelength as the rest of the team (though neither is anyone else to be fair).

Thought he did fine today. Decent in the first half, resolute in the second. Didn't see him get caught out or anyone really get by him in truth. More athletic than Knudsen and Kenlock. Looking forward to seeing our full backs play and attack when Marshall comes in. | |

Elder is so much better than Knudsen on the ball. Knudsen plays like he’s got a fireball at his feet whilst Elder looked quite composed in comparison and linked up promisingly with Sears at times.
Keane although not yet match fit has obvious class and show glimpses of that today.
Big Colin - although he looked ungainly at times he did at least make the ball stick at times and gave us a decent target up top.
Hard to judge Dawkins however on the glimpse we saw he may struggle in a foot race with Darren Currie - he must have some tricks up his sleeve.
James Collins was immense and probably the difference between winning and drawing/losing. Just got to pray he stays fit. | | | |

Yeah, it was. Elder offered very little on the ball and aimed a few hopeful balls forward that would've seen Spence or Knudsen booed, similarly hacked some clearances out of play in a way that would have seen you criticising other recent full backs. He's new though so all shiny and that. I'm not sure he's very good though but hopefully he'll improve. [Post edited 12 Jan 2019 20:56]

Collins - If he wasn't a fitness risk then he'd be put of our reach. Is quality at this level.
Elder - thought he struggled defensively but linked up with Sears nicely a couple of times in first half. Best thing he did all day was the closing block as FT was blown. He's a kid in a new side though so can't read into his defensive side too much.
Keane - Thought he looked class. Ball stuck to him and used his body very well. Didn't hit him at all in second half, which would have relieved some pressure.
Quaner - didn't look as technically gifted as Keane but, again, used his body well. Think he'll prove a good signing.
Dawkins - looked off the pace but to be expected. Showed some neat touches e.g. before chalobah switched to Sears when he ran it out for goal kick. Not writing him off but needs to get up to speed sooner rather than later. | |
