Hats off to Pennington 19:54 - Jan 12 with 1702 viewshomer_123

The number of times he got his head or body on or in front of the ball second half, superb.

Collins was excellent but Pennington was my MOTM.

Absolutely agree with that. We have to sign him permanently. He could be here for a very long time and future captain material.

Ian Marshall.....he scores when he wants.

He looked far more composed at RB today than he has most of time at CB this season I reckon

Just one small problem; sell their houses to who, Ben? Fcking Aquaman?

Had a better game today but he's not a right back. Some good blocks and headers though when we were on the back foot.

I like Spence, which I know isn't fashionable. Had he been playing at RB today...very different result.

Pennington is a very old school RB, tackling and positioning first....ball skills second.

That's a harsh downvote Herbs.

Much better from him, although he's always been good with the last ditch stuff. His use of the ball was dreadful, especially when he's playing RB, and he was marking the invisible man for the chance Rotherham should have scored from when Taylor blasted over the bar after Chalobah made a mess of going for the ball.

Not a patch on Collins.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

Can move back in the middle once he has learnt from Collins.

I thought he was OK. Definitely second best to Collins who I thought read the game so well that he was always on the end of the most threatening play. Pennington looked better at RB in my opinion but didn't offer much going forward.

Not really. There's no way we should look to sign him permanently let alone view him as captain material.

He was the one person I was most worried about in that lineup, after seeing him at RB when we played Swansea away*. Didn't really have a good game there, but certainly seems to have done so today.

* Mind you, that was a win, too ...

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

Didn't he also play RB against QPR? That was pretty tragic... but not all his fault, obviously.

Collins was my MoM, but Pennington did do very well. Excellent.

Not sure the left back is better than Kenlock but overall our defenders played well. Gerken worries me though.

A centre back filling in at full back is always going to be limited and I wouldn’t want to see this long term. However he played well today and makes us a physically more competitive side so for the time being I think it’s worth persevering with.

We finished the game with four CBs on the pitch, it really was hard to work out who was where by the end - but it worked!

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

Gerken has been less of a concern than what Bart has offered this season.

If anyone can coach Gerken into better positioning and decision making it is Collins. Several times during the match he clearly left Gerken in no doubt where he should have been.
