You can remain in the EU and become an independent nation. For some reason Scots seem to believe the EU will support their cause although the EU failed to support Catalans.

Wonder how many north of the border would have voted for Brexit if the EU hadn't hinted Scotland would be welcome in the EU.

Spain would veto Catalan entry to the EU. We, apparently, won't be there to veto Scotland. I think Spain opposed Scotland joining but dropped that opposition when it was revealed they would have to apply and not join automatically.

I think you're getting stuff mixed up a little.

The reason people in Scotland didn't vote for Brexit was because they already know the Westminster politicians are rubbish and they're the cause of disillusionment not the "Eurocrats" in Brussels. That penny seems to be slowly dropping for people south of the border now.

And the EU won't support a region over its own national government because that's not in their remit. But all bets are off if the UK leaves the EU first.
