The Donacien deal must be up there with one of the worst deals in history.

For the record I think he should have been given more of a chance but in PL we trust!

Impressively enough, I'm not even sure it's the worst deal of the season we've made.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Agree on both sides.

We've basically given them £750k for nothing, JD has had a nice payrise which we will be picking up the tab for and they still have him! With the crap FA Cup performance enabling them to eanr another few hundred thousand, plus taking 2k fans there they must absolutely love us!

I really don't mean this as a reflection on the player, who is fine, but have we ever spent a worse £750k?

Edit: £1.4m according to wiki.

I wouldn't be surprised - especially given PL's recent remarks about us not getting enough return on players - if we've held out for a good loan fee and/or Accrington paying a hefty chunk of his wages.

That was just unfortunate though. Nobody will ever know if Le Pen would have been good, bad or indifferent for Town.

I hear the Karic shout as well but at least we had money then.

In the case of Donacien, it's just been a shambles all round.

Sell him, build a stand, get him back by paying a portion of his new salary (i.e. the same wages he was on before you sold him).

Good work.

haha

750k purchased 2 weeks ago and then get the player back. Accrington must be laughing.

I think as a one on one defender he's actually very good, but as good as he is there he's limited going forward.
