Club needs to go down 16:54 - Jan 19 with 2040 viewsMrTown

In a rotten defeatist mess at the moment. Going to teams and teams are just expecting to roll us over these days. Championship not our level anymore.

13 successive away games conceded 2 or more goals.

Whether it needs to go down or not is irrelevant because that’s where we’re going!

This forum is so childlike. A win and suddenly it's all going to be ok. A loss and the toy start getting thrown out.

For gods sake, be a little consistent.

No club ever needs to go down, it isn't the fixer of woes.

I'm curious as to what people think will change with our impending relegation, other than any half decent players we have leaving.

We are very poor. Bottom for a reason. Only positive is the manager. The team are poor. Owner showing signs of improvement but it’s all too little too late.

Well said— club going down . Players rubbish and as I’ve said before manager hasn’t made things any better ... yes he’s inherited the worst squad in the history of ITFC but he’s not improved things though to be fair I’m not sure guardiola would either ... keep the faith ?? As the mighty Rotherham lost and gap still only 7 points!!! But to close the gap you have to win games and that ain’t happening any time this side of the next millenuim. You get want you deserve in football ... we deserve nothing. End of

Please give us at least one* good reason why our club needs to go down.

*Two would be better.

Would probably suggest the club.

Bottom of the champ with 3 league wins all season.

What do you mean what will change?

We would be playing teams at our level, more competitive week in week out, would be able to get 10th/11th.

In league 1 we will be playing teams of similar standard to us.

Well it needs to go down because we are getting beat consistently and sitting bottom of the league with 3 wins.

If we go down we will play teams at our own level.

Second that.

Look like Burton Albion at the moment when they were in the championship. Every ground we go to its "little old Ipswich, we'll roll these over", and they do.

*Should give us the chance to clear out the dead wood

*Might be cheaper to rebuild a longer-term squad at a lower level

Clutching at straws really as the finances will be extremely tight.

More chance of introducing youngsters: Downes, Kenlock, Bishop, Lankester week in week out.

Sorry but I don't consider that a good reason.

What we need to do is improve to not get "beat consistently" at this level, and we might yet do that with our latest additions to the squad, who need time together & with PL. We then wouldn't need *two* promotions to get to the promised land. Don't you think that's a better "need"?

13 away games conceding 2 or more was an interesting stat. In other words the first away game of the season (where we were unlucky to lose 1-0 at Rotherham if I recall correctly) is the only one we have not conceded 2 or more. Bot cup matches (against lower opposition) we conceded just once.

Also we have now only scored in 1 of the last 9 away and 4 away league matches in total. Our home form has actually picked up under Lambert … not enough but it has. We desperately need to improve away too.

No different from last weekend or midweek though. I think the only difference is that you got excited after scraping a 1-nil win and thought we'd get something today. We haven't and the abuse and outpouring of irrational emotion starts.

The objective is simple. We're in a mini league of four that we need to come top of. We have to beat Reading and Bolton and then it'll go down to bottle and nerve in other games. No one around us won this week so we move on. No surprises, nothings changed so why the dramatic post?

A very good summary of what is going on right now to be fair, and how to look at it. To the OP - You come across quite young and emotional in your posts, not meant as a slight - being young is a quality many of us probably still wish we had, though there are great lessons to learn from our man Keanish's post here.

Going down has absolutely no positives whatsoever.

Anyone who thinks otherwise needs to give their head wobble.

As I said yesterday always bitchin and moanin, you just can't help it can ya!

We lost, the mess as you call it has just been tidied up and is about to get better both home and away I am sure!

I can't stand permanently negative arses like yourself who can't see even the slightest positivity in anything that's being done, surprised your not having a go at Judge for not scoring a goal on his debut!!!

Thank you Jeremy Kyle, but this is a forum and you know nothing about myself. But thank you Doctor for guidance in lessons.

Regarding Keanish, we’re not in a mini league at all, we’re in League 1. Reading, Bolton, Rotherham and maybe Wigan in a mini league to see who will be joining us in League 1.

Apologies, I shall adjust my tone to match your level of vitriol - you're acting like a tosser
