Bolton 4 Ipswich 1. The day we all knew the Premiership dream was over.

Saturday 6th April 2019. Bolton vs Ipswich. Freaky.

I promise you, he doesn't know his arse from his elbow.

I wouldn't worry, we've all accepted that we're going down now, so it'll just be a day out.

These people are called idiots and BB is their leader.

By god that was a miserable day.

Possibly my worst following town from a purely football sense, including the 1-5 v the scum.

Absolutely spineless performance in such a massive game.

Had we won that game Bolton would have been relegated, we would not have gone into administration and everything would have been rosey.

Yes, a lovely day out that was.

Marshall flapping about in goal. Venus and Peralta injury doubts before the game both clearly not fit and substituted at half time. Bolton supporters chanting "Where's your Barry Knight ?" at us. Enough ...

Insane that we have never recovered from that day. And the exact same date and stadium 17 years later could equally be as horrific. Although we should be done by then it's absolutely crazy the fixture has fell like this.

One of very few away games I have left early in disgust. Forest just before Christmas being another one.

We’ve never recovered from that day in 2002.

And we’re likely to be very close to the edge if not over it on the same day this year.

Possibly the most bizarre season form-wise in our history.
Relegation certainties until mid-December.
Champions League form for six weeks in the middle made us look like comfortable mid-table and then back to square one.
If anything though that season should give us the tiniest glimmer of hope that some miracle could occur and we could win seven out of eight again.

I remember being at Everton away and we won 2-1. February I think it was which took us to about 13th. Every single one of us singing "We are staying up." It was also more "that was close, let's buck our ideas next season."

Never ever thought after that game we would be in trouble. So sad.
