Why can't people just let others enjoy learning whatever they're interested in learning about without feeling the need to take a dump all over it? Being dismissive about the subjects other people study seems a little insecure to me. Whatever you choose to do, be it go onto to Higher Ed or go on to join the workforce, there are going to be opportunities to learn something valuable. Let's not judge people for their choices eh? You're among friends here. If you weren't bright enough that's OK, it's not for everyone. BEng in Civil Engineering, leading to a career in Civil Engineering. As the Yellow Pages used to say, "Boring - see Civil Engineers".

For those who have done them, in which subject(s) were your degree(s)? on 20:56 - Jan 30 with 12051 views | Dubtractor | A degree in common sense from the university of life...... Roughly translates as "I didn't go to university as had neither the motivation or brains to warrant it at the time". Had I gone it would have been a generic business studies degree and I'd have flunked it through a haze of weed I'd imagine. I've done alright though, all things considered.

Quaternay Environmental/Climate Change (= more Geography/Geology) 2. Climate change, sea-level change & landscape response (= even more Geography/Geology) Used for 15 years and then not used since other than entry to jobs with minimum degree requirements. I quite fancy kicking back and changing direction completely, but have no idea what to do. Gigalo probably isn’t an viable option.

Unless, like the two blokes I lived with who did it and you end up as well paid employees of the NHS helping people with severe needs I guess. Or those I know who went on to become teachers, social workers, civil servants of different sorts etc. Anyone who thinks degrees are purely vocational tends to look a bit a dim when sneering like that.
