You can walk it, cut through Gyppeswick Park and up London Road.
No pubs though, Station Hotel to start with, there’s always the Kingfisher on Chantry.

It’s 1.7ish miles walking.
You can always get the 13 bus from the station stop, just down from the station, and get off at Chantry shops (Where the Kingfisher is) then a 5 min walk to the park. | |

Chance for a pint in the Penta Hotel, then keep going past Kwik Fit, McDs, straight over all the traffic lights so you have the bike shop on your right.
Keep going up that road (Hadleigh Road), over the rail bridge and you’ll eventually come to Chantry Park.... Earl Kitchener pub will be on your right just before you get there. |  |

As Sitters says no pubs apart from Station Hotel,but it's walkable. When I go to matches with my brother we park about 5 mins walk from Chantry Park to we can beat all the traffic. It's an easy enough 15-20 minutes walk from the station. |  |

Probably the easiest way if you’re not from round here.
Other option I guess is walk up Birkfield Drive, Hawthorn Drive, Kingfisher Drive, Robin Drive etc
Chance of a beer at the Kingfisher.
