I'm not a huge fan myself, but isn't he the fella from the BBC who exposed Jimmy Savile as the vile paedo he was about a decade and a half before everybody else caught up.
Lizards aside, makes you wonder why so much effort has been made by the media to discredit him.

To be fair, the press don't have to expend much effort, he does most of the hard work for them.

The lizards are actually running things and portraying this view as ludicrous is just part one of their agenda. Hiding in plain sight, those clever cold-blooded barstewards.

Agree. The lizard thing is something I can't get to grips with.
I guess if you are part of the establishment, it's better to have a living example of a shape-shifting lizard believer to pull out and mock at will than bump him off and make a martyr of him.

I'm going for four pages here with furious claims that that isn't what he meant then and definitely isn't still his position now.
Remember when all his fans painted him as someone better than other politicians, I would have more respect for him if he was public with his pro-Brexit views rather than the undignified farce of wanting Brexit but all the blame to sit with the Tories.

Any true leftist and socialist is anti-EU. See Peter Shore, Tony Benn, Dennis Skinner, George Galloway ... genuine Labour men, not Lib Dems in red rosettes just to be elected by the middle class.

Still think Britain's too cold for a lizard elite.

Whereas you just defend and excuse the left wing racists by indulging in anti semitic conspiracy theories of dual loyalty.
Once again Sprucey is being disingenuous. Pointing out that somebody has a rather unhealthy obsession with benters and ruins thread after thread by chasing him around the board in the hope he can get a rise from benters is not "throwing my lot in" with him.
If benters posts something that unpalatable I am the first to pull him up on it. I don't feel the need to then follow him around from thread to thread.

I don't excuse racism. Or people making up racism for their own narrow political ends.
Anti-semitic conspiracy theories of dual loyalty?? No, I just happen to take the side of Jewish people who are against the Israeli government and the efforts to bend the UK to its will. You prefer the other lot probably because they're on the right.
The conflation of my legitimate view with anti-semitic conspiracy theories and tropes is your tactic of trying to shut down the debate as per. It's a well-documented tactic here and in the wider "discussion" out there.

Your knowledge of the history of the Labour Party is as shaky as your football knowledge it seems.

Your post would work if I wasn't a harsh vocal critic of Netanyahu's government and his racist policies.
Interesting to see you use divide and rule with the British Jewish community though. You'll defend them from racism so long as they share your beliefs regarding Israel. But those who believe in the right of the Jewish people to self determination, 9 in 10 of British Jews, deserve everything they get.
The fact that you and your up arrowers (2 lefties and one tin foil hatter) hold that view shows why we have such a serious problem with antisemitism on the left of politics.
Hence the reason that the Parliamentary Labour party last night passed a motion condemning the failure of the party to root out antisemitism from its ranks. Even more worry that the General Secretary admitted twice that it was "impossible to eradicate antisemitism" in the party.

Yes, undoubtedly many on the left were, and largely still are, anti-EU. That certainly isn't the entire history of the Labour Party though.
Agreed. But for a short period, those people had control over the party and it's policy regarding the EU. This was one of the reasons for the split in the Labour party that saw the formation of the SDP.
We are now seeing a repeat of that with news that several Labour MP's are about to break ranks and form a new centrist party.

What a load of wheedling, manipulative nonsense.
I have my views that I can defend. You counter them by saying something about other people who aren't me.
Have you watched The Lobby yet? Or still ducking it?
I happen to think that Jewish people who defend Israel to the hilt (or say they don't agree with Netanyahu and the religious nationalists but then attack opponents with everything they can throw at them) are wrong. That doesn't make me an anti-semite.
Also, the PLP can go feck itself. I trust you more than I trust politicians.

And there we have it. Luciana Berger was one of the people who moved the motion last night. This is what she wrote on the subject on the day of the vote.

Thanks for the sort of mention.
My belief that a state created for the sole benefit of one race is racist isn't going to change. That little point technically makes me an antisemite according to the Holocaust Remembrance definition, which I respectfully disagree with on that point.
But to conflate something like that with 'hating Jewish people for being Jewish' is very wide of the mark.
I'm not going to continue debating the issue here as I think we've gone round in circles about a dozen times with the same results.
My views won't change but an antisemite I ain't.
I'll leave you the last laugh.

And I've said repeatedly that you are not an antisemite. But your upvote of somebody who has repeatedly played divide and rule on here with the British Jewish community and in this very thread dismisses people like Luciana Berger (who can go fek herself) shows that none of you would rather look the other way.
If only antisemitism was as simple as "hating Jewish people".
Of course this thread started going south as soon as Spruce Moose joined in to say I have thrown my lot in with racists.

This:
'I happen to think that Jewish people who defend Israel to the hilt (or say they don't agree with Netanyahu and the religious nationalists but then attack opponents with everything they can throw at them) are wrong. That doesn't make me an anti-semite. '
...seems unusually sloppy for you and way too general. At it stands, it does read a little bit 'fck them all' which I doubt you meant....
I guess what I'm asking is can't a Jew defend Isreal to the hilt and still disagree with how its being led?
Or maybe I've misunderstood?
