A mature democracy in action on 11:27 - Feb 12 with 687 views | No9 | It is of no surprise is it? Last week the HoC ended about 15.00 because there was nothign else to discuss. The leader of the house, who does the schedules is a hard brexiteer and won't countenance anything that may upset the applecart, they are in the position they wish to be The opposition motions are declined

Presumably once they get to the 11th hour and 59th minute, most of those who voted against her agreement last time will panic vote for it to avoid a hard Brexit (except ERG types)? Presumably that's her plan?

That has been discussed (radio) as being her plan But there are those who think this is just a ruse & the entire move is to make it difficult for anything other than a drop out

Oh right. So everyone's just guessing then. Given her past performances I've little confidence in her carrying through her cunning plan, whatever it is.

There will be a further extension. There is no plan beyond waiting for a consensus to form naturally, which we are on track to do by about 2037.

That's the thing, the Withdrawal Agreement suits the EU because we are out and lose what little leverage we have left. We will be a Third Country legally. It suits May because she cna claim to have delivered Brexit. It suits no-one else and the whole future relationship has still to be decided. Anyone who claims that it is not important is no friend of British manufacturing or agriculture. Any rational Prime Minister would have sought an extension by now but then no rational Prime Minister should have triggered Article 50 without any idea of what the UK wanted. This is frankly terrifying, May's only loyalty is to the Tory Party: https://www.politico.eu/article/inside-uk-prime-minister-theresa-may-mind-brexit
