It's similar to most walks of life, and in some ways is understandable that they may get pushed on a bit more.

But some of the cases are ridiculous - there is a big difference between a good footballer like Alex Bruce getting more opportunities than there is a player who is patently not good enough getting new contracts going up the leagues as they have no success.

We had Sam Westley here for a bit, son of Terry Westley who was head of the EPPP. Sam had previosuly been at Birmingham and Stoke when his Dad was there, when he was between jobs he was here, and then when Terry went to West Ham he went there - miles away from being good enough but stayed in the game and denied others opportunities for far too long.
