Well done Luciana (n/t) on 11:01 - Feb 18 by WeWereZombies | Do you think so? The Tories have looked like the natural home for the overcautious, now there is an alternative. Let's wait and see what Anna Soubrey does. |
It was announced this morning the group will st in the HoC as 'Independents' (it doesn't say if their constituents agree with that) I don't think Anna Soubrey will do anything because she knws if she does her constituents may action recall - ditto Sahra Wollaston. This has strengthened Mrs Mays position meaning she can bend even more torward the ERG right

Well done Luciana (n/t) on 11:23 - Feb 18 with 3312 views | Ryorry | The name 'The Independent Group' is awful, but am guessing they want a catch-all to, err, catch people from across all parties, and will change it to something better once they've got going. Good individual statements by the 7, but a poor start with their organisation of online technology (surely crucial) - their website crashed immediately! Personally, from the presser, I like the cut of their jib - just wish I could get to read their manifesto! Update - website now back up & running - https://www.theindependent.group/

Well done Luciana (n/t) on 10:20 - Feb 18 by StokieBlue | Why is it embarrassing? I guess the directive is to belittle their concerns and attack them directly in order to ensure the project retains it's momentum. It's visible in the comments already posted and the statements aren't even finished yet. Enjoy your day arguing on the internet. SB [Post edited 18 Feb 2019 10:29]

Look at social media and it is clear there has been a big briefing on this for the Momentum lot to be all over it like a rash with personal digs at them all

All those noted on your briefing notes - see Owen Jones's tweet for a neat précis EDIT - also "The Labour party will be better off without the MP for Riyadh" [Post edited 18 Feb 2019 12:22]

That's not a personal dig. They will be better off without a Saudi-apologist.

Calling him the MP for Riyadih is clearly a personal dig.

Bit of a LOL at the whole antisemitism thing, while it may be true it seems to me to be a cover for the real reason for this.

Feel free to explain what exactly it is that you mean. If you're talking about Berger, then I'm happy to admit it's a real shame if she felt she had to leave the party solely because of the abuse she has received. However, I disagree with her remarks that the party is institutionally racist.

“What personal digs?” I think the post was pretty clear. If you don’t think there have been personal digs at the MPs this morning then there is nothing I or anyone else can do to persuade you. It’s really not hard to find them. The fact you either chose not to or chose to ignore them highlights why they felt they had to leave. The broad church fallacy you pushed on here is well and truly broken. Don’t know why I bothered to explain something that was perfectly clear anyway, especially to one who’s blind to the fact. Enjoy your day, I’m sure it’ll be eventful. SB

Sorry if I haven’t been able to absorb everything that’s been said about this by every single person, but could you please explain which personal digs you’re referring to? That’s all I’m asking.
