Yes, it's a lovely place to be based, went nine years or so back. Youthful city with good food/drink/sights. How long do you have? The Turda salt mine is just out of town and I recommend that for a half-day, what they have done with it is slightly surreal but well worth a visit. After that it depends whether you have time to get out further. I went out on a trip with some Dutch guy who ran tours in his van to old villages in the area, much more interesting than it sounds, if I can remember his details I'll post. And Sighisoara is a not far away as the crow flies, although it takes the slowest train I've ever been on to get there. | |
