Guthrum's Estimated Final Table 09:43 - Feb 20 with 8007 viewsGuthrum

And it doesn't make for very pretty reading ...

... unless you take a morsel of pleasure from Norwich missing the automatic places on goal difference.

Any chance you can estimate our final table for 2019/20?

If we are interested in the rivalry (which we are) it is more important for them not to go up than it is for us to go down.

The last prediction, following relegation, was 100 pts, 100 goals.

I would like them to miss the top six altogether but that is not likely.
I do not mind which three teams go up just as long as none of them are from Norfolk.

If we do by some miracle stay up then I'd probably be able to stomach them going up given the fact they would come straight down again. If we go down and they go up it will be a little hard to take.

I survived Ipswich 0-0 Burton

I keep reading this nonsense. They would be made financially for another 5 plus years. It is like you being happy for them to win the euromillions

Have a feeling if you redo it to show the situation with two games to go that Norwich may in an automatic spot.

This.

The worst thing about them going up is the parachute payments and money that ensures they can continue to have success.

It's pretty damning stuff either way - would that be the record points low for the league at this level?

And the saddest thing is, only a miserable 41 points to survive. What was it MM got from a pretty similar position when he took over, mid to high 50s? Btw, that is not a criticism of PL. Bigger task and a tighter loan system and all that.

The difference was McCarthy signed Henderson, Stearman, Ndaw, McGoldrick and utilized players like Cresswell, Chambers, and Murphy more effectively. Lambert has been able to bring in Judge, Keane, Quaner, Bree, Dawkins and Elder. The standard of signing has definitely dropped since 2012 which I expect is a status/budget thing more than a Lambert thing.

McGoldrick was out of favour at Forest and on loan at Coventry. Is that really a worse signing than Quaner on paper? Stearman out of favour any different to Bree etc etc.

Moreover, McCarthy was able to utilise the "Emergency" Loan system to bring in people straight away (Orr, Barnett), plus making use of those Jewell had brought in that way. Lambert was stuck with what he'd got (or free agents) until January.
