1) The English League Cup is not comparable with a Europe-wide competition.
2) People weren't desperate to get out of the FA Cup in 1978.
3) The old First Division (top tier) is not League One (third tier). Lack of subs did not make things easier.
4) That one they can have. But we've finished 3rd or higher in the top division on six occasions, to their once only.
