If it was the one who murdered the prostitutes, then he was on London Road.

We used to run a psychedelic club night in the back room of his pub in Norwich (Ferryboat on King St). He seemed OK

One night he dressed up as Elvis and fell off the front bar and cut his leg up bad.

And for as long as I remember I’d pass that house thinking ‘they’ve got a cctv camera up there, wonder if it works’

Turns out it didn’t work

Used to go to a ska night most Thursdays down the Ferryboat. Knew him a bit, seemed like an all right fella. Then we heard... Jesus Christ.

It is a bit of a stereotype that they all appear really normal peeps!

Wonder what he was doing running a pub in Nodge's red light 'district'?

Weird innit?

They’d often be in and out of the front bar but he wouldn’t let them out back.

After he was caught, there was talk of his involvement in the Ringland murder over Costessey/Taverham way but nothing came of it.

Must've been involved with some murky stuff up that way... So many prostitutes are missing persons or off-radar that it's entirely possible.

Funny that he repeats the same stunt in Ipswich a few years later.

Pub's been shut for years now, I believe- shame.

Yeah, it was a nice but grim old pub. Was scheduled to be demolished and replaced with more flats, I think.

The garden backs onto the river, i'm surprised nobody has had a go at it. Especially as they are now developing that side of the riverside complex area.

Where was the pub out of interest? Just curious to see whether there's a strong pattern here.

Not an expert on Ipswich but wasn't his place also in a rather seedy area, known for its loose ladies?

Used to go in there when he was landlord, always seemed a decent chap but saw he had a temper on him a couple of times. Both times were when he caught people with drugs on them, so they were shown the door sharpish.

Balls. Am a few years too young to have seen that, sounds great! How did they go, out of interest? Much of a crowd?

Ever go psychfest up in Liverpool?

Used to get between 50-100 there. Would put white sheets up and have mannequins dotted around and project liquid wheels over everything. Looked crazy.

Haven’t done Liverpool but have done the Lewes psych weekender a couple of times and regularly go to the Mousetrap allnighters, Sensateria etc.
