No manager press conference today 09:15 - Mar 11 with 2930 viewsPhilTWTD

No press conference at lunchtime in case people are making plans around it. Paul isn't about this morning. Teddy Bishop is speaking to the media, however, and we'll have his thoughts on here later.

Teddy Bishop about what he thinks of TWTD,that should be interesting.

Thanks Phil. Will be interesting to see what Teddy has to say.

If Bart can maintain his recent form and can be kept on a lower wage (how likely that is I really don't know).

Then I assume - Bart, Wolfenden, Downes, Bishop, Nolan and perhaps Jackson, will become key players next season. And Bishop almost becomes an older pro!

Do you see Chambo continuing Phil as club captain and CB? He may thrive in League One. Albeit he has had a poor season overall, very error strewn.

Poll: How many points will Town get from 5 (Wat, Boro, Hull, Cov, Hudd)?

Think people might need to calm down a bit about Woolfenden.

why

hes featured weekly for Swindon, and in the 45-60 mins he played in first game of season he looked more than capable of playing for Town.

what do you know that others don't about him

A friend of mine and his partner are Swindon town season ticket holders, which admittedly is slightly weird as they live in kesgrave but despite that they follow swindon home and away. Having watched him week in week out they both say Woolfenden is a good player in the making but some way off being ready for the town first team just yet so i can understand what somethingblue is saying

I don't expect him to be starting ahead of Nsiala or Chambers, and wouldn't surprise me if Lambert brings in a left footed centre half for balance in addition to those 3 plus Ndaba

You rate nsiala over wolfenden? Or you think that's what PL is thinking?

From what I've seen of nsiala the word donkey springs to mind, so clumsy

I do hope I'm wrong though and he becomes a rock at the back in L1

I don't think Nsiala will be here next season, I think it's quite clear that PL doesn't rate him either. Knudsen back from suspension and straight in.

I think Nsiala will be sold, Woolfenden will come back from loan as back up to Chambers, PL to bring in a left footed centre have and Ndaba to be back up for that slot.

Poll: We’ve got super KM, he knows exactly what we need. Woolfie at the back…

Hopefully he can progress as a bit part player over next season for us then

Bit of both really - Nsiala was one of best defenders in League 1 last season, whereas Woolfenden playing in league 2 this season.

Nsiala frustrated me earlier this season as he flies in to challenges too much, but refs in L1 clearly more lenient on that matter - think he'll be good for us next year.

I've seen a lot of Woolfendenin U18s and U23s and never been mega impressed, although when he has played for 1st team he has looked good. Bit of a dreamer at times and that was why he played RB a lot more in U23s. But very unfair to judge him on that and not his season for Swindon where I haven't seen him but is much more of a marker as to where he is.

from what he has told me there have been a couple of issues with positioning and decision making which you would expect with any young centre half but he still rates him as a future town first teamer. i dare say he could learn a lot from training or playing with someone like collins but i can't see that happening unfortunately

its also sounds like being played out of position at RB a fair amount this season hasn't helped

He was named in the EFL team of the week a couple of weeks back, wasn't he. Seems to be doing well at Swindon.

I haven't seen much of him, aside from the odd first team start he's had, but I've been impressed when I have.

But the challenge for him, I guess, will be whether he develops quickly enough to see off the challenge from Corrie Ndaba, who Lambert seems impressed with.

EFL Team of the week is a bit of a joke really though, especially as a defender as it values scoring goals above anything else - generally every defender in it has scored that weekend.

I'd say he's some way ahead of Ndaba currently, but will be doing very well if he can push on ahead of Nsiala - he has played RB a few times for Swindon and a lot for us, he mya end up there in the short term.
