Sunday roast? 13:08 - Mar 11 with 1293 views | BrixtonBlue | Talking of meat, as a few of you are down the board, Lady Dollers and I went to the Fentiman Arms near Oval for Sunday lunch yesterday. Beef striploin, lemon and thyme roasted chicken, slow cooked pork lion, a pig in blanket & crackling were the ridiculous varieties of meats on my plate... plus a massive Yorkshire, pots roasted in goose fat, cabbage, celeriac, carrots done in a funny way I cant remember the name of, swede and gravy. All for £20. Awesome, delicious, could've done with more than one pig in blanket but that's being moon-on-a-stick. I was stuffed. But just had room for a whiskey and treacle tart with clotted cream for dessert. Nice and cosy pub with a real fire and friendly locals playing board games. A lovely and relaxed way to spend your Sunday afternoon. Highly recommended.

I was down there last summer with a colleague, we both had morning meetings in the area so shared a car & agreed to meet at the Fentiman Arms for lunch. My meeting was over in an hour so I was in there from 11. Unfortunately my colleague didn't turn up until 4 so was too late for lunch & by that time I'd had countless pints of Aspall whilst watching Wimbledon on the tele. Fortunately I wasn't driving.

Not my mother, no. Not sure why you'd assume that. Lady Dollers had a veggie option so I didn't think it was worth mentioning/I'm not entirely sure what it was (I was fully focused on the meat).

Other people's aren't, probably. A bit like kids - they're great for a little while as long as you can hand them back. [Post edited 11 Mar 2019 14:23]

I am now! Please tell me you're a high-powered multi-millionaire, a kind of Max Power sort? The Simpsons Max Power not the footballer. Although that wouldn't be too bad either.

Always sensible to keep your attention fully on a pig-lion
