I’m going to say he signs for us if we go down or not.

He is now 30
Playing in fav position
Playing every week
Plays in a footballing side
Plays with a smile on his face
Making the right noises for signing for us

Up or down he signs :)

I think so. Depends on what the terms of his option on his contract are but he said they were very much in the club's favour.

We need a few players like him next season. Bishop could be one. I hope Dozzell could become one. Maybe we could loan an experienced creative midfielder that can take a set piece.

Just think it depends what is offered to Judge by the club and what they say to persuade him to sign. If you are enjoying your football, you like the club, management, staff and the area that certainly counts for a lot in my view - ingredients where you are going to play your best football. I'd be more concerned if this starts to drag on and he still hasn't signed.

And if Chambo leaves he might be offered club skipper .

I just fear the likes of Wigan, Blackburn (and to a lesser extent QPR & Reading) could show an interest and would clearly outspend us whilst also being in the league above.

I mention Wigan & Blackburn as I fear both Keane and Judge would see location as a real plus side in their favour

I really hope so and think he will, but why hasn’t the club just triggered the option then?

Have a terrible feeling the longer it goes on the less likely he is to sign.

That would be unreal, could see Keane scoring a truck load of goals down there.

He's already had two spells at Blackburn - third time lucky?

I suspect the option keeps him on his current wage.

Call me the pessimist - I think he’ll be playing in the championship next season again.

Am chuffed I’ve seen him in a Town shirt now though.

Can we just play some attractive football please?

option will be for 1 year, but as Judge says it in clubs favour (but just for the 1 year) , i suspect the club are trying to extend that deal to at least 2 years, next will be renegotiating 2 or 3 years for Skuse.

With that spine we will struggle - apart from Judge.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Lambert add some 'experience' in the summer as I think we can all recognise that we need succession planning for the likes of Skuse & Chambers in particular.
It would be naive to assume Downes & Wolfy could jump straight in for a full season so an experienced L1 campaigner in the late 20's would be a sensible addition to take the weight of responsibility off the handful of older players we have.

I see more good news about Alan Judge banging the drum on being 'back to his best' and loving his time with us.

Its not like he is saying i will keep my options open, he is making all the right noises to stay with us next season.

Judge came here because he wanted to play regular football. He's played well & looked a decent Championship player, who can also play 90 minutes. He's also got back into the Ireland squad. While we don't know exactly what this "option" entails, I'm sure a Championship club will offer him a far better deal than Town can, while I'm also sure he would rather play in the 2nd tier than the 3rd tier. Sorry, but it's very unlikely to happen.

The club has got an option to extend at what price i dont know.

He is making all the right noises and i can see him signing a new contract, while he is in this contract anyway.

He is the type of player who should be our top earner. To replace him we would almost certainly have to pay a fee. This way is he our player and can pay him good wages even dropping down a league.

Think his current deal price is too high, otherwise it would have been done.

Think ME is probably a longer term deal at a different price.

The longer it goes on, don’t think it will happen.

The reality, though, is that we won't be able to match Championship wages. We can't spend a big chunk of our reduced budget on one player. And we do have quality players in the middle of the park if we can't keep Judge.

It really depends on how much he likes playing every week in a team wanting to keep it on the deck.

Judge is now 30 years old and its a big decision to gamble to not get in another side and having to prove himself over again.

ps has his wife got a job at Ipswich hospital yet?

We can all see that he's a top player, therefore so does everyone else..

We're not the only side who can give him minutes and certainly not the only side to play it on the deck..

The issue is that any one of a dozen or so teams can tick those boxes, but could offer him something that we simply can't - Championship football... (plus a few more quick to his weekly paycheck)

Would love him to stay, but think it's unlikely
