Very classy for him to use more or less identical language to the Christchurch shooter when talking about an "invasion of drugs and criminals". All this on the day of the shooting. Unbelievable that this man is the President of the USA. His far right rhetoric should be being shouted down as fringe crackpot nonsense, not driving policy in the wealthiest nation in the world. We live in dangerous times. Make no mistake, politicians like Trump create the conditions in which things like Christchurch happen.

Genuinely boils my piss that he just carried on regardless, almost certainly knowing full well that he is fuelling this type of thing.

His tweets about the attacks are very half hearted too, no real acknowledgement it was a terror attack, no condemnation of the ideology. We have a far right ideologue in the White House, it's pretty terrifying.

The trouble is that life was much easier when we could point and sneer at America and feel better about ourselves. We really aren't that much better than them now, they just do it with a bit more showbiz

I did think that as I was typing it, but the equivalent would be to have someone like Farage as PM.

We've moved to the right, but still not as bonkers as the US.

We obviously need a Corbyn government to reset our society nearer to the left.......

Who do you mean? The UK Trump is Tim Wetherspoon ...

Anyone pushing for him to lead the country should be sent to an internment camp on the Isle of Wight.

There will be a few muppets trying to riot on the streets for a while spouting incoherent nonsense and then they will go back to their lives again, moaning in wetherspoons about foreigners taking their jobs and they will soon lose the interest in politics.

I think it would be interesting, ballsy, and somewhat amusing if the GOP rejected him as their 2020 Candidate and selected a different candidate. Forcing Trumpalump to run as an independent, even if he were to win under that scenario he'd have a rummen time functioning in the house/senate

If Brexit happens we will have Trump running our country as we will be back to being in the US's pocket.

Exactly. Probably heading for number 10 if we don't leave the EU.

The remoaners are going to cause a massive shift to the Right, and then get *MORE* teary when it happens.

Do you really think a) the Tories would elect him as leader and b) they would remain as a single party if they did?

Well we already have chlorine washed salad over here bought in by the EU. I'm sure you are aware of that aren't you.

Nah. The gammony entitlement and sheer Brexiteer stupidity will cause a drift back to the centre and hopefully a little more to the left too.

The whole Brexit fiasco couldn't have been better for exploding the myths of the petty nationalists and xenophobes. And seriously damaged the Tories' unfounded reputation as the party that gets the economy and takes care of business.

So cheers for that.

I wasn't especially but it would be usual to wash salad before eating it anyway.

This may explain some of the difference in approach for meat production if you are interested in the facts, though.

the official White House account has tweeted out this past week shadowy footage of what they call an invasion. It supposedly shows immigrants crossing the border but who knows if it's genuine. All in the name of creating a false "national emergency" to get funding to build the wall. We are living in dangerous times.
