They and Portsmouth are likely to be bookies favourites for promotion next season.

We will be a shorter price than both of them if we finish the season strongly.

Truly impaired.

Not with the bookies.

I am not fussed what the bookies think either. Just because they are clubs that have been at a higher level than where they are does not mean they will go up (as this season appears to be showing). However, that should also be a caution to us. Just because we have been at this level or above for most of our history does not mean we can't get stuck down there.

Assuming Luton and Barnsley go up, and neither of Pompey or Sunderland won the playoffs, I’d price it up if I was a bookie:

To win the title:
Ipswich 15/8
Sunderland 11/4
Reading/Wigan 7/2
Portsmouth 5/1

13/2 Bar

I bet you we will be if we get some results between now and then. Whether the public will agree and the weight of money will move the market, who knows?

Obviously that list is only a prediction at this point but that would be pretty incredible if ourselves, Sunderland and Wigan were in a title race again, like in 05. Shows how we’ve all fallen.
