It will just add a longer disappointment time for the remainers while they keep clutching at straws for any small glimpse of getting a losers vote or ending Brexit in its tracks.

No. While I voted remain I, unlike the majority of Labour MPs , believe we should respect the result of the referendum by leaving the EU in 9 days time. You only have to watch parliamentary coverage on Sky to see how often they display a graphic showing MP voted remain, constituency voted leave. Labour campaigned at the last election to honour the result of the referendum, Labour voted to submit article 50 letter and to leave the EU on 29th March 2019. I know Labour holds more seats in London than any other party but Lanour is supposed to represent all their voters, not just those in the metropolis. Corbyn is as much to blame as May for the publics totsl lack of faith in the way the HoC is behaving. The EU will reject May's letter there is little prospect of reaching agreement before European elections the EU will want a postponement until end of 2020. We really are heading for a no deal Brexit and it no longer looks accidental.

The referendum did not specify when we would leave the EU. If we are leaving, do it on the best possible terms, not just in 9 days time for the hell of it.

No but it was a straight choice between leave and remain. There was, post referendum, an overwhelming majority in the HoC to submit the article 50 letter and it is now written into law that we will leave on 29th March. We are stuck because of an incredibly stubborn Prime Minister and incompetent leader of the opposition

You need to stop this talk of points and losers and stop thinking of all this as a game.

So not actually moving the people this week but I get your point. Some pointers there. That's 50% less roles than they moved 5-10 years ago when they off shored loads of roles to Countries like India, because ir was cheaper. But for ease let's also blame Brexit for that Some figures in the past have been aligned to Brexit previously as a deliberate lie by remainers. For example Goldman Sachs had planned to move a large percentage of its technical roles to Poland (as its cheaper there) even before the Brexit vote. Moving those roles started last year and remainers incorrectly associated that with Brexit, even though GS's decision was made before Brexit and had nothing to do with Brexit. If Labour win a GE a much larger number of roles / money will be leaving the UK even if stay in the EU, because of the tax, rules etc Labour said they would bring in on banking at the last GE. Remember it was McDonald who said Banks should fear Labour. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

We are stuck because nobody has presented a working plan. We don't have the politicians to pull this off. Leaving just because would be a huge and avoidable mistake.

While also, in the last General Election, I thought both Labour & the Tories fought on the basis of completing Brexit. They should not absolve themselves from this responsibility just because they can't get quite the Brexit they want. Poor leadership from both May & Corbyn.

You're probably right. Anyway, my position on all this is that I would dearly love to see our exit averted, but if not, I want us to leave with the best possible terms. [Post edited 20 Mar 2019 13:13]

No one's blaming Brexit for previous outsourcing. Please try to keep things serious. The reason Brexit is to blame for this loss of assets/business is that companies will likely lose their MiFiD passports to do business with others in the EU. That's why such companies have had plans in place for a long time to relocate so as to continue doing business there.
