Significant ruling over in the US on 'glyphosate' 09:49 - Mar 20 with 719 views | homer_123 | Long way to go etc. but still..... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-47633086 A US jury has found that one of the world's most widely-used weedkillers was a "substantial factor" in causing a man's cancer. Pharmaceutical group Bayer had strongly rejected claims that its glyphosate-based Roundup product was carcinogenic. But the jury in San Francisco ruled unanimously that it contributed to causing non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in California resident Edwin Hardeman. The next stage of the trial will consider Bayer's liability and damages. [Post edited 20 Mar 2019 9:49]

Significant ruling over in the US on 'glyphosate' on 10:03 - Mar 20 with 690 views | Swansea_Blue | This stuff's everywhere. The focus to date has largely been on agricultural use (although this case isn't). People on here will be using it in far higher concentrations than farmers do, and likely with no consideration for protection (it's in every popular weed killer product). There's very strong industry backing for studies to 'prove' it's safe. People can make their own minds up about it, but it's certainly worth looking into in more detail.

Mmmm, yummy! "Significant levels of the weedkilling chemical glyphosate have been found in an array of popular breakfast cereals, oats and snack bars marketed to US children, a new study has found." "In April, internal emails obtained from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) showed that scientists have found glyphosate on a wide range of commonly consumed food, to the point that they were finding it difficult to identify a food without the chemical on it." https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2018/aug/16/weedkiller-cereal-monsanto-r
