May can't even manage her own meeting.

Who really cares what was agreed? Does it matter if Chukka is there? Course it doesn't.

It's a national crisis and he acts like that. Its indefensible and I'm amazed anyone would defend it.

As Vince has said, it's a very strange way to act given the current crisis. I'd actually say May was right to invite them given they are a large voting block.

This.

It’s borderline unbelievable that he acted so petulantly.

Putting his ego ahead of the country’s desperate need.

They’re all pathetic.

They're not a large voting bloc - only the two main parties could create a deal. The other (democratically elected) parties wouldn't matter a jot. But they had a right to be invited since it was for political parties (which TIG is not) and their leaders (which Chukka isn't).

They are a bigger bloc than the DUP who seem to hold the power and our country over a barrel

Come on footers.

Why play semantics when it's this important. They control as many votes as others invited.

It's not compulsory to defend JC no matter what.

Walking out was a ridiculous thing to do.

Because if someone sets the leader of the Labour party a trap, he should be able to walk round it rather than straight into it.

May hoped it would happen, Corbyn made it happen.

So... where is the fury aimed at May for playing games? Honestly, I'm not a Corbyn supporter, but I can see why his supporters do get annoyed by the differing standards he's seemingly judged against.

The Tories. They’re an absolutely immoral shower who couldn’t cate less about the irreparable damage they’re doing to the poorest in our country.

But that’s not the point.

Now isn’t the time for party politics.

Why wait for two years to begin talking to other parties since it's so important?

Only a Labour-Tory agreement can push any deal through. But no, May has insisted on ploughing her own furrow, set ridiculous deadlines and now created this mess.

I just don't really see the big issue with what May has done - We know she and the Tories like to play games, Corbyn is supposed to be a man of principle and above this. But he can't go to a meeting when the country is in turmoil

"Having spoken to several of those present at meeting with PM, here’s what I’ve been told happened;
- PM restated the case for her deal
- Didn’t entertain alternatives seriously
- Corbyn didn’t want to take part with Independent Group"

So maybe, just maybe, May not entertaining anyone else's ideas (quelle surprise) was the reason for Corbyn walking out?

What a childish thing for her to do at a time of national crisis entirely of her own making.

So you're annoyed at Corbyn walking into a trap, but not May for setting it? Just asking for some equal blame to be spread around.

Like I said. Looks an awful lot like Corbyn gets judged by a different, and much higher, set of standards. He's a moron for walking into a trap. And May is a disgrace for setting it.

If you've watched PMQs today you'll have seen his insistence on coming together to thrash out a deal. That can only happen if the other party attempts to negotiate. Clearly May doesn't want to do that. So why hold the meeting?
