Some people may just want to let you know they disagree with you without getting into an argument or posting anything. There are some posters on here who disect the posts of others. It can be a bit daunting for new posters.

Some just do it out of spite though.

Some even go to the lengths of creating a separate account to agree with their own down-votes and double up on those votes.
