Cardiff and Sala 12:20 - Mar 25 with 2713 views | maccyd9 | Does anyone else find this whole saga pretty poor form by Cardiff? With the multi millions in the premiership, to try and escape paying the fee despite officially announcing the deal is not good imo. I appreciate football is a business but there has to be some good left in the game surely?

Cardiff and Sala on 12:27 - Mar 25 with 2653 views | Superblue95 | I’m not sure how they think they can get away with not paying it. It’s an awful piece of luck for them from a financial point of view but there’s no reason why Nantes should miss out. A man has died and they’re trying to use that as an excuse to save money. Very distasteful

Cardiff and Sala on 12:32 - Mar 25 with 2628 views | Guthrum | There are probably technical aspects to this which go beyond the superficial emotive aspects of the situation. Had his registration gone through? Had he formally started work for the club? Was the payment due by instalments and is it only that the first one has been delayed? Is it because of legal issues surrounding certification of Sala's death and any inquest? Are Cardiff waiting for an insurance payout, which perhaps they may be having to fight for? Do they feel there is some liability on the part of whoever arranged the flight (or their insurer)?

Their latest counter argument is that the original registration was rejected by the Premier League. Just all very sour.

Realistically this is an argument about who's insurance company pays... or maybe Cardiff hadn't put it in place and Nantes had just cancelled theirs...

Cardiff and Sala on 13:26 - Mar 25 with 2417 views | ArnieM | There’s no respect in football anymore these days. Too many money barstetwds in the game. Sala’s case is an utter disgrace and both Clubs should hang their heads in shame IMO.

Are they trying to suggest that they wouldn't have sorted that problem out if the plane crash hadn't happened? Sent him back to France saying he's not our player? No, if there was a problem with the registration, they would have sorted it within days and Sala would have made his debut for Cardiff in the next game. Shameful, but not unexpected from a rich PL club - or any other football club I suppose - when the letter of the law gets in the way of common decency.

Cardiff and Sala on 15:30 - Mar 25 with 2237 views | itfcjoe | Yep, they had signed him, registered him and he was their player. He was taken the flight only because he was now a Cardiff player. They may have some grievances with everything, but they are absolutely nothing to do with Nantes who they owe the money to

Looks Cardiff are doing their utmost to get out of payingnthis transfer fee. They’re saying that the FA had rejected the attempt to register the player and so he had not formerally signed . Amended paperwork was not signed by all parties so was null and void . Nantes naturally are saying something different. I can see this running and running . Leaves a bad taste in the mouth tbh . https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11704/11674843/emiliano-sala-contract-no
