Those attacking options! D Bent, M Bent, Counago, Naylor and Armstrong
I can’t get my head round what it must be like for those who’ve only watched Town over the last decade.
To have watched sides so devoid of energetic and attacking football.
We had a rally of sorts when Murphy was on fire. But it was hardly waves of attack, hammering teams into submission with dynamic running, wing play and attack.
I suppose Jim Magilton season of home dominance was the last time the fans had conistent joy at home.

Just watched most of Part 4, Andy Marshall really was f*cking hopeless wasn't he
If we'd had a half decent keeper we would have got promotion, the amount of goals he cost us was alarming you only have to watch the videos to see that

Reminded me of us earlier this season, no matter who went goal they made mistake after mistake. Pullen gerrard and Marshall were all poor that season. The game against forest was the worse for me 2-0 and cruising then 2-3 down 8 mins later.

Royle quickly realised how many points the hopeless Marshall was costing us so he got Paul Gerrard in on loan, but he only played 5 games. Did he get injured or was he recalled?

I think we could only afford him for a month!
But yes, if we had been able to keep him we’d probably have gone straight back up.
This was the first season I started attending regularly as a youngster, crazy to think how easy we made it look, 6-1 and 8-1 in consecutive home games! I've only watched part 1 but can already tell this heavy run of league/ uefa cup/ worthington cup is affecting us, especially when we seem to have the same line up every single time.

We couldn't actually afford to pay the players' wages. We had no choice.
I just mean there must have been someway out of it, deals lined up for the summer to chase that final play off spot as would have fancied us against anyone in them.

Plenty of choice incidentally, it was badly managed and those in charge have subsequently admitted that.
I'm obviously not privy to the detail, but I just can't imagine that situation now where clubs can't hold out until the summer if they were genuinely chasing something - especially in March. If it was January before that long run and play offs were a distant dream you could understand it, but we'd done the hard work.
Also, surely Sir Bobby would have been able to persuade Newcastle into getting the deal for Ambrose lined up for the summer as they didn't need or use him that year.
It strikes me as trying to do 'administration' properly and not doing it as a football club with a very unique calendar compared to other businesses

Remember the collapse of itv digital having a major impact and forcing the issue. Selling players suddenly was our way of trying to stave off administration.
