I see London has been voted best city in the world by Trip Advisor. Somewhere near a provincial green, a gardener kicks his own butt.

I bet Bloots will downarrow this.

If one can't get misty-eyed with nostalgia about Pimlico, Balham and Clapham you have no soul.

Clapham Park. The old shopping arcade on the A205 just by the Brixton Hill/Streatham Hill junction. Sh1thole.

Didn't Trip Advisor claim that a troll in a shed in Dulwich was London's best restaurant?

Two of those aren't London London - they're South London. Big difference.

They let some terrible nouveau 'riche' types in there these days. One longs for the more discerning times at White's, before they let the fruits and coloureds in.

Best city to visit.

Living there is still sh1t.

I await the backlash.

Every time I think I've had enough of London's failings and start to dream of setting up in the countryside, I end up going away for a weekend somewhere and thinking: great to visit, but couldn't live in the sticks. Edit: or south london.

As someone who is living here as I type, no it isn't sh1t. I live in a lovely cul-de-sac with a big garden and a pond, and friendly neighbours (we have street party once a year and a gmail group for offering free stuff). Close enough to central London to cycle in in half an hour, with everything you could want from arts, to entertainment to food, a stone's throw away.

The downside would be the pollution.

No backlash. It's probably sh1t for some and great for others, like most big places.

I bet Bloots will downarrow this.

I did it the opposite was round to most people, lived in the 4rse end of nowhere until my mid 40's and then moved to London.

Maybe the novelty hasn't worn off yet but I agree, I have so much I can do within a 20 minute journey or so it never fails to amaze me.

The one thing I do miss here is my own outdoor space but where I am that would come with a multi million price tag so aint never gonna happen.

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

Balham - Gateway To The South..

The Grenada in Tooting - never really appreciated its marvellous Art Deco splendour during Saturday Morning cinema in the 60s..

Just one small problem; sell their houses to who, Ben? Fcking Aquaman?

I was jesting truthfully. I love London. But London's main issue, like where I live, is cost of living.

That's what I meant about visiting really.
