Steam trains, can't wait for a visit to Wales later in the year, nothing like having an ice cream whilst breathing in the glorious smell of an engine about to leave the station.

Indeed, the Mallard is a wonderfully impressive beast...........to be honest, Stephenson,s Rocket would have crushed said miscreants.

Is there anything finer than a BRITISH steam locomotive burning our precious anthracite? It is a joy to behold. And I hope it's scoop ice-cream, not that vile 'Mr Whippy' bunkum invented by the hated socialist Thatcher.

How is the person sad? Making a peaceful protest of how 17.4 million people have been stabbed in the back by a remainer Prime Minister and pathetic turn coat Corbyn. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Yes, dear chap! We are in agreeance here :) Much planned for the weekend? I was hoping the weather would carry on from yesterday, although that looks unlikely at the moment.

Surely people should stick to the boundaries of their local council tax area, anything else is just selfish.

The Prime Minister who negotiated and put forward a deal which would have seen us formally exit the EU yesterday, but was rejected by a collection of Brexiteers in Paliament (the ERG, the DUP)? If the Brexiteers had supported Brexit, it might have happened (even with Labour opposition). But too many of them refused to.

Nope it would not have seen us exit, we would still have been controlled by the EU.

You were in favour of May trying to deliver the will of the people the other day. What has made you change your mind? The deal wasn’t perfect but it delivered the vast majority of what Brexiteers professed to want during the referendum. What specifically is it you don’t like?

This is the narrative that I find really odd, the Brexiteers are blaming remainers for thwarting Brexit when we'd have left yesterday if the Brexiteers in government had voted for the Withdrawal Agreement. When that's pointed out often the retort is that May's deal isn't really Brexit. It's still not clear, even this late in the day, what it is that Brexiteers want other than to blame other people for everything. What we've seen is that Euroskepticism works as a protest movement, but once it gets what it wants it doesn't know what it wants anymore. Best for all concerned if we just remain and they can go back to shouting from the sidelines.

What was on the ballot? Remain or Leave, where did it say we were voting for a deal? If the backstop was removed or we could tell the EU we were leaving their agreement (if you think May negotiated this deal)

We would be outside the EU, no longer a member. There was a two-year transition period during which we would have continued to enjoy some of the benefits of membership, with extraordinary protection for our fisheries, Gibraltar and the like, plus an end to freedom of movement, while negotiating future trade deals. Yes, trading standards would have remained in line with Europe, but then the Government assured us that was going to happen anyway. Once that was done, we would be completely out.

Re: your second para, today's front page from the Mail is jaw-dropping in how it casually skips over the underlying point that Brexiteers themselves can't deliver Brexit. I hope at least some of their readers aren't fooled by the obvious inconsistency and point-scoring here. But seems to be building the new narrative of why Brexit didn't happen ... "It was Corbyn's fault."
