Any idea on the financial projection 12:12 - Apr 16 with 1265 viewsITFCMonk

These relegation salary cuts are supposedly keeping the wage bill below a reported 60 something per cent of turnover. It has been 108%. If this has been analysed this seems odd that we will technically be in a more secure financial position in terms of wages to turnover?

It's not as clear cut as that - I think there's a higher threshold for the first season following relegation, and on top of that certain recent contracts are exempted.

In theory, though, it'll mean the club will be in a more sustainable financial position.

One would imagine that our wage bill for this season will be a lot lower than it was it in 17/18 anyway due to the level of player we let go & those we replaced them with.

75% of turnover in the first season following relegation, plus income from certain other sources, including transfers and revenue from cup games.

For the 'other sources', see Paragraph 2 of Appendix A here: https://www.efl.com/-more/governance/efl-rules--regulations/appendix-5---financi

True. I’m more interested to see how much our turnover will drop by though

Depends upon what wage cut clauses are built into their contracts.

Around £7m in lost TV revenue, which is a fairly hefty chunk of our £17m (?) total income

Yes, the likes of a Lankaster, Dozzell and Downes wouldn’t count towards that figure either.

Quoted as near £9m I believe. £7m is just TV money, the other £2m is income generated from business links, advertising etc etc
