Pat Sharkey, a player that I informed anyone that would listen was going to be a hell of a player for us.
My mate still mentions that from time to time.

Not forgotten per se, but if you’re talking about TWTD mentions relative to 1st team appearances then Geraint Williams under indexes big time. 200+ appearances, barely gets a sniff on here does poor Geraint.

Capped for N. Ireland because he knew Allan Hunter: the N Ireland manager rang Allan Hunter to ask if he knew of any Irish players as they were a couple short.

early 70s and I've started work for an Ipswich house builder. Ex Town player was the foreman, Dave Deacon. I've seen his face in the late 50s early 60s squad team photo. Lovely guy but a chain smoking hand rolled tobacco man with it always hanging out of his mouth!
I'm sure he played a few first team games as a full back as Town went from the old 3rd division to the 1st.

Axeldahl is normally well represented in these sorts of threads, relative to contribution. See also, Karic and Abidallah.

The Macedonian Steven Gerrard seems to be falling down the pecking orders a bit though.

Anyway, Paul Mason is the one for me, the player Alan Judge wishes he could've been.

I remember him.

He actually played 76 first team games although he was generally a reserve.
First game in 1950 and last one in 1959.
He played the vast majority of his games in 1951/52 and 1952/53.

All the above from TDWMTT apart from me remembering him and remembering him as a reserve.

I still remember the headline on the back page of the Evening Star when he joined.

'Cor! It's Lems'

Don't think he ever played a senior game.

Must admit, I thought you were going to say Ron Fearon.

Scott Houghton though, he had a very decent loan spell for us.
