Assuming Evans is not going to invest any more than the minimum, how much would I t take to run the club on a shoe string like he is?

£5 million per season?

Just wondering how close we are to being able to build a
Consortium

Really? I thought he was only putting in £7 million in the championship
And therefore running costs will be lower in league one?

Think it was announced we’ll lose £9m per year in Div 1 v Championship (mainly broadcasting income.) Think it was also mentioned that Evans wants about £35m for the club.

That figure is another urban myth as we seem to be selling players without the money being reinvested in the squad.

As it stands in '17/18 our income was 17m. Next season we are going to losing around £7m tv money so we will need a massive cut in wages to meet that reduced figure.

So if our income drops to £10 million what is the outgoings?

Our income will go down by up to 9m. We won’t necessarily lose that as the wage bill will go down significantly. Of course we already lose 6m a year in the championship

So investment needed will be £6 million plus wages excess

Can’t believe we have that many high earners left

I’m imagining overall our loss will go up to £10-12m ish, so one or two remaining seniors like Bart who we might get £1m for now would be going to further bridge the gap back to the previous £6m annual overspend

I don’t think you have to assume that, he said as much in his letter!

I must say I just don't understand all this.

If Evans has £800m, and Sheff Utd owners, have £260m, Norwich have £30m

How the hell are we going down and those two going up?

Because Evans has the FFP to continually get him out of jail in regards to investment.

The EFL have set the bar now with Brum's 9 point deduction. An awful lot of owners will see that as an acceptable risk. Evans will not fit into that category.

Ignoring the ridiculousness of thinking this would be possible and getting ME to give the club for nothing to a consortium that might be able to scrape 5 million together. We can focus on where you think you can get enough people to invest in something that probably wouldnt survive past a few months and has 0 chance of a return on investment.

Well that is the question, how hard would it be to get such a consortium.

I think the chance of investment point is null and void. Football should not be viewed as an investment imo, and owners should not be in it for that reason. I think this is the main problem we have with Evans, he views it as such.

I think I have made the point before, that I view football club ownership in the same category as boat ownership, and flash car ownership. Most of the time, neither make any sense financially, you do it for the enjoyment.

Can't say much more at this point for legal reasons, but I can tell you that I with some other interested parties are considering this seriously.

We are not looking at taking other capital on board at this stage but we may well have to if the numbers don't work.

I think most of Evans money is in investments rather than hard cash. Norwich have also had the Maddison income which we didn’t get. Sheffield United are the plucky club who have over-achieved, a role which we fulfilled before but couldn’t get over the line.
