Nope, defo 3.11am. Drove up to a recommended viewing spot.

Nasa posted just after that it was off. Fingers crossed tomorrow's motel is only a couple of mins from a decent view...

Issues with the fuelling of the rocket and the drone ship where it lands.

They usually do - high chance of them launching I would say.

It's entirely dependent on your view, I'd get up but them I'm very interested in such thing. If it's a meh for you then get your sleep.

I was in Orlando a good two decades or so back and there was a planned Shuttle launch.
Got there with loads of time to spare and eagerly awaited the countdown.

Got to about 5 minutes to launch and then they scrubbed it.
Apparently it was because it was cloudy in Spain, where one of the Shuttle diversion airfields was. Gutted that i never got to see it. However it was very impressive doing the tour of the Space Centre while the Shuttle was sat on the launch pad waiting to go (which I think happened the next day).

Slept through it. Lifted off this morning.

Won't be buying a Tesla any time soon.

I was catching up on 'Astronomy Picture of the Day' just now and there is a picture of a recent launch from a few weeks ago (not the one you missed) that is good eye candy:

SpaceX have gone up in my estimation (from quite a low starting point) solely because they use ship names from the Iain Banks Culture novels.

Hope they are planting lots of trees.....probably some absolutely essential G5 satellites on board.

I think Stokie posted recently that their launches are quite green now, but like you I am yet to be convinced. I am a bit conflicted though, a lot of the knowledge of climate change has come via looking at the Earth from space. So I am tending to come down on the side of that instead of stopping doing things outright we should all do things to the maximum energy efficiency possible with the least impact on the environment. But that may be because I want to keep travelling and am prepared to eat much less meat (or crops farmed in a way that is intensely damaging to habitats and natural living).
