Kenlock caught out for their first goal..... 08:18 - May 6 with 1443 viewsITFC_Forever

Ayling starts further up the pitch than Kenlock, but is already on the move by the time the ball is played, so by the time Kenlock realises what is happening Ayling is up to full speed and away.
Still did very well to reach the ball before it went off.

Kenlock was poor first half and has been often caught out of position leading to crosses and goals conceded coming from his side.
Before Accrington (spence' last game other teams seemed to target or have more joy down our right, that has changed since Bree came in)

One of the problems is that with Judge sort of nominally being left sided but allowed to go walkabout whoever plays at LB is often going to get exposed or in two against one situations . Ayling was certainly very good at exploiting that situation down our left side and sometimes Kenlock does seem to be daydreaming.

Couldnt agree more, I thought Myles was decent yesterday given he has to do a lot of the defending dowm that side on his own. And if he wasnt pushing up trying to support our attacking play hed get criticised for that too. You could also argue that if Nisala hadnet slipped on the pull back then he might have got a block on the shot.... but who cares... WE WON so give em all a break eh?

I agree, not just daydreaming but almost musing about some far away land where strikers don’t make runs between you and the centre half.

Agree. Mings always had a lot of protection in front of them in players like Tabb. And Anderson offered that sort of protection for our RB too.

The challenge of playing more on the front foot I guess, when previous regimes would have the wingers on a more defensive footing.

It is a matter of concern that Lambert has not improved our defensive play at all. Even irdinary players can be trained and organised to be harder to score against.
