Tooth extraction - no tea? 06:46 - May 8 with 1258 viewsSwailsey

Hey Mumsnet,

I had a tooth out yesterday - getting mixed advice from dentist about when I can drink (lukewarm) tea. Conscious of dry socket. Really need a tea. Help me.

Much love,

CS

Have some...I have almost no teeth....always have tea the following day!

I still have plenty of teeth but whenever I've had one out I've always drunk tea the same day, not hot of course.😁

You could always inject it. Alternatively, don’t they stick medicines up people’s bums sometimes? You could try that I suppose 🤷‍♂️

I had one of my back ones taken out last year and had a nightmare month where it was not healing. I was terrified of dry socket and no help on the evening after I had it done got a bit of soft pasta caught in the hole but not allowed to swish it out as it could remove the blood clot.

You can drink tea but make sure it's lukewarm and not hot, and whatever you do, don't use a straw to drink. Good luck with it.

From memory Following day is fine ,they only don’t want you to have it because it’s hot and you might not feel burn re : anaesthetic
