Since you’ve been here you taken us from the cusp of the promotion to Division three.

So pleased for you that you have all these other assets but you are happy to sell ours off at the first opportunity and replace with nothing.

What a utterly decent leader and owner you really are.

You call yourself an Ipswich fan, you’re nothing but a 🐍

No. But we are certainly in Division 3 now.

Where would we be if he didn't make up the short fall in revenue every year. It's not peanuts either.

We finished 8th, 1 point off the playoff places Had we been able to win a few away games, we'd have been well in the mix.

There have been massively adverse changes in the environment since 2007 (the galloping inflation, growing inequality, failure of FFP, etc.). That bit isn't Evans' fault - the club has consistently voted against them when given the chance.

Everyone wants to blame our owner for trying to balance the books and nobody the football authorities who let things get to the stage where a rich man cannot afford to fund a top-level football team (the Cobbolds would have had no chance).

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

Don't let me do Jim a disservice but is that really 'on the cusp of promotion'?

It's like saying we were on the cusp of promotion in 2015/16. We weren't.

Evans' main mistake when we DID have a big advantage of an owner willing to spend big for the time was that he appointed very, very badly in terms of his managers in eth shape of Keane, Jewell and to a lesser extent Magilton(who he didn't appoint and managed to achieve a top-ten finish despite some bizarre transfer activity in the summer), so by the time we had one(Mick) who COULD have achieved promotion with a bit of financial support in first teams affairs we couldn't capitalise were faced with the diminishing returns of his latter years followed by the house of cards collapsing with Hurst and, to a lesser degree, Lambert.

I know but it’s still hardly “the cusp of promotion”. It’s the cusp of the Play Offs, a competition in which we have an extremely poor record.

There are enough sticks to beat Evans with without people making things up or rewriting history

It's certainly closer than anyone, bar Mick, achieved subsequently. Had Mick had the resources afforded Magilton, Keane or Jewell we would have gone up.

His single biggest mistake was judging that Roy Keane was a good fit for Ipswich Town. After that, we were always playing catch-up, having dissipated our advantage and wasted the available funds.

If you mean he buys players, pays wages and general running costs, then yes, I guess he is responsible for the shortfall.
