Publicly, Steve Gibson has no regrets: "He has been a joy to work with and a complete gentleman."
Pulis has always seemed to me to be thoroughly unpleasant and hopefully his bubble has now well & truly burst.

Pulis has always seemed to have been in the manager-go-round.
I agree with you

You’d have thought Pulis would have been ideal for the Championship and a team with resources that had kept coming up short.

Just goes to show what a tricky division it is and seemingly much more of a conundrum than the Premiership.

The real problem is that most squads have players with fairly similar ability, largely because most of the better players are in the Premier League. Yes, a few clubs with smaller wage bills will usually be relegation strugglers - the Rotherhams, Barnsleys etc. But spending a lot doesn't give nay guarantees - look at Derby's struggles to go up. To esnure success you have to be prepared to lose a phenomenal amount of money e.g. Wolves, who assembled a Premier League squad and appointed a decent coach.

TP, MM, Sam A, et al look to have had their day.
The recent success of teams with foreign managers suggest that is going to be the way football will be played for the time nbeing = Good job too.
