Clarke wasn't sold on the cheap! We got an excellent deal. It worked for both parties. Webster is the better player and the deal has made us significant money though would rather have kept Webster.
Marriott decision was the correct one. He was well behind in the pecking order (we had excellent forwards) and hadnt performed in recent loans and then came back in terrible shape. he admits this. | |

As someone above has said, if they manage to set off a bidding war his value could become inflated.
His reputation has certainly improved following his half season at Villa, and even since he left us transfer fees have become more ridiculous. If Liam Kelly has gone for £13 million (and probably precipitated Mings' exit) it's not inconceivable that Mings could leave for £10 million+. |  | | |
