I shouldn't thinks so mate - it's certainly not something I consider.

It would be different if you lived in a place that wasn't on the ground floor of course and the poor person had to carry all your stuff up flights of stairs etc.

It would be mean not to then.

Not unless you're in America. Then you tip for fooking everything.

I don’t understand why anyone wouldn’t do home delivery now. My weekend time is so precious there’s no way I’m spending it in a supermarket. Ok occasionally there will be a short shelf life bag of salad or whatever but I can live with that. £1.50 delivery charge i pay from Sainsbury’s, it would cost more in diesel to drive. Absolute no brainer.

As for tipping the driver, balls to that! We’re not in America ffs

When a couple of carpet fitters turned up here they were both rude as feck and it was hard work getting a word or cooperation from either of them.

Once the carpets were down and it came to leaving they kept hovering and one of them kept asking if the job looked ok.

It was embarrassing really but I ushered them out the door with the feck-all they deserved for their crap attitude.

Do people tip carpet fitters anyway? They obviously thought so.

You tight-fisted git. I hardly earn anything fitting carpets, and I've got recurrent pre-patella bursitis.

You didn't even give us a biscuit.

I have no idea what one of those is but you did not catch it from me.

Biscuits are fattening.

See how kind I am. I save people from themselves.

Abuse reported?

We have a carpet fitter on the board maybe.

I'm sure it wasn't you that day, whoever you may be.

Yeah, takes a while to get yer head round it. Funniest one was when we went to the footie in Peru and the guy who showed us to our seat expected a tip.

It was about 10 yards, plus he took us to the wrong ones. He was quite insistent too, cheeky fugger.

Do you ever get into any Carry On type situations with lonely house wives/husbands!?
