Broken phone help. 19:33 - May 20 with 1195 views | jeera | I broke my Samsung 3 mini last night and am really pissed off as it was a cracking little phone with no faults whatsoever. It seems to switch on - well I can hear the intro music thing - but the screen is blank and functions a no no. Is there any way I can extract info safely onto my laptop please, you clever people in-the-know? No unheard of dodgy software please. Thanks.

Hopefully the pc will detect your device and you might be able to extract any pictures, music etc from the phone storage. It will come up as external storage and you may be able to browse the folders and copy. If your phone prompted you in the past to ask if you want to charge only, or something else you may be on a sticky wicket but give it a whirl

I'm afraid i've tried that and nothing came up. Not so much as a prompt. I will try again though. Probably a dozen more times. Contacts and other info I assumed were saved to the card apparently weren't. I saw online there's software you can download to your laptop which is supposed to extract info from Android but am blowed if I wanna risk that without someone I know who can tell me it's safe.

Broken phone help. on 21:13 - May 20 with 1044 views | WeWereZombies | You should be able to replace the screen for £40-£50, well that is what I have been quoted for my Moto 3 which is having a similar problem.

I haven't and I'm not sure I understand at first glance - bit of a technophobe and all that really - but I shall certainly investigate. Thank you.

The damage extends beyond the screen unfortunately bud. Cheers though.
