Recently moved to Toronto and wondering where the best bars are to watch England games, Champions League final, and other footy matches in general.
I'm not bothered about being surrounded by other England fans...to be honest, I'd almost prefer the opposite but just want to be able to watch the games in a good bar on a big screen.
Please let me know of any recommendations.

The Loose Moose is decent, I watched a game in there with an English friend who lives there. Only thing I couldn't get on board with is the kick off times, but there's not much that can be done about that. It was a 3pm GMT kick off which was 10am in Toronto. Bit different watching football over breakfast. It's OK as a 1 off but on the regs it makes going to the pub to watch the footie a very different experience. Couldn't drink until the 2nd half as they don't start serving until 11am, and then you're settling in for a big session if you're 3 pints deep by midday. Have to say I found the Loose Moose wasn't cheap either, I'm sure there are better bets.
You're probably much more clued up than me on this as you live there, and it's not answering your question, but there's good access to in home viewing out there. My friend buys some package that's very reasonable, especially compared to what we pay SKY, and he seems to get loads of the games. Given the kick off times he said it's quite a good option, he tends to sit in his pants eating breakfast at home and watches games on his TV. Less sociable admittedly. |  |

It's true, with a minimal tv package you can get all the premiership and FA Cup games here and I do the same thing on a Saturday morning - up at 7.30am watching with my breakfast.
It's the games outside of those that I want somewhere 'social' to drink and watch. | |

I'll warn you that the whole process is very slow and requires a massive amount of paperwork. My other half is Canadian and it still took us a year for my visa for permanent residency to come through.
However, don't be put off...the immigration services for Canada are incredibly helpful and proactive. I would recommend that you speak to private immigration specialist if you are serious about it - just go for an initial appointment to find out how likely you are to get approved.
That appointment will cost you anywhere from £75-£250 but it'll give you a lot of useful information (which forms you need etc) and a suggested probability of success. They'll then quote all kinds of ridiculous amounts for them to help you (we were quoted £10,000) but we chose to do the paperwork ourselves and it wasn't too arduous, we just had to be extremely thorough not to miss anything.
What follows is a huge wait with little information but they'll contact you when they need stuff. If you want to know anything else, please don't hesitate to ask. | |

Real Sports downtown is crazy, well worth a visit at least once. Pricey, but the main screen is 39ft (yes!) And they have about 200 other TV's.
