I've just read an article in the independent discussing the runners and riders in the tory leadership contest. The article was posted an hour ago and names the 12 contenders as enough for a cricket team. I went back to the indy's main page and the top story - posted 27 mins ago - was the entry of Sam Gyimah (me neither) as the 13th candidate. All this talk of "uniting the party" seems to be bogus if there are that many candidates. However, it appears that 5 are genuine contenders and the other 8 are just in it to raise their profile. What a bunch of willy wavers.
Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?
The ones which concern me are those pledging to wildly slash tax with no real explanation of how they'd then cover the shortfall. Pure voter bribery without a care for the proper running of the country.
Or an implicit threat of cuts to services which would make Austerity look like child's play.

Well, the ones who scare* me are those wanting a no deal Brexit. They offer no plan on how to do it - just like your observation on tax promises. They don't seem to realise that there is no longer any mileage in the saying "Trust me - I'm a politician - I know what I'm doing".
* 'concern' is a good word but doesn't cover it for me whereas 'scare' does.

Let's be fair, they all basically look like the cast of Game of Thrones.
I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

When they talk of a 'managed no deal Brexit', they are forgetting (or ignoring) the fact that Parliament has already blocked the government from making preparations for that eventuality. Might make things a little tricky.

We've seen already ad infinitum that facts and the law are of no interest to a lot of these people.

Parliament blocked the May goverments no-deal. This is completely different because it's their no-deal. Same turd - different wrapper.

There is no such thing as ‘managed no deal’. It is a phrase used to make the ending of many of our current trading arrangements and the shredding of large chunks of our economy with loss of people’s livelihoods and potentially worse sound palatable and sensible.
It’s like the phrase used a lot in government ‘sub-optimal’. In other words shi&£. So ITFC had a sub-optimal season. That sounds far nicer than relegated by a country mile with one of the worst teams in its professional history.
