Only 7 years ago he was being touted as a potentially good manager at Huddersfield. I realise that everything he’s touched since has turned to sh1t but this is still quite a shock to me, I’d completely forgotten about him.

Lee Clark would make a management trio of Roy Keane, Paul Jewell and Paul Hurst look like a good thing

My hobbies include being quiet during trips, clapping with songs, and diabetes.

He was always useless and despite underperforming at Huddersfield a section of our support on here used to get excited by him. Same lot thought the same about Darren Ferguson

A large section of support were happy at the Jewell appointment too and were adamant he was good manager despite what happened at Derby!! I never thought we should touch him (or Keane for that matter) with a 100 foot pole let alone appoint them!!!

Seems to be a case of early beginners luck, riding momentum. But then getting found oud when the going gets tougher. Much like Keane really. Although I assume he’s more pleasant to be around.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

He’s still only 46 so if he does a good job there he will probably get another shot at league football. L2 probably mind.

Although the manager he replaced might be more suitable for us:
